Firefighters in southern Ukraine faced a dangerous fire affecting two villages which was exacerbated by dry conditions and unexploded arms leftover from the Russian invasion.

Footage filmed on July 22nd shows the dry fields burning between two villages in the Mykolaiv district, which were formerly under Russian occupation.

Strong winds, the absence of a nearby source of water supply, as well as undetonated munitions being ignited by the fire contributed to the rapid spread of the flames.

The units of the State Emergency Service, together with the local fire brigade, extinguished the fire for about 10 hours. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
