Flash sloods surged into homes as Typhoon Talim battered northern Thailand.

Footage shows murky water rushing into a waterlogged living room, submerging furniture and appliance in a house in Phayao province on July 19.

Talim lashed Phayao with strong rain that lasted overnight on July 19. Waters quickly rose as drains were unable to keep up with the torrential rainfall, local media reported.

Several roads in the province had to be closed due to the flood, which also swamped houses in the Mueang Phayao district.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
