Rescuers were dispatched to northern Thailand after days of heavy rain left homes submerged.

Volunteers arrived in boats and trucks to deliver relief supplies and evacuate residents in flood-stricken Phetchabun province on September.

Authorities said the Phung and Pa Sak rivers were threatening to overflow amid continued downpours.

Rescue teams were earlier dispatched to neighbouring Loei province, which was also battered by floods triggered by Typhoon Kajiki.

Water has begun receding in several areas but officials warned that downstream communities remain at risk.

Vietnam has also recently been battered by Typhoon Kajiki, which made landfall on August 25, leaving at least seven people dead, one missing, and 34 others injured. Officials said more than 7,000 homes were damaged during the storm.

The Thai Meteorological Department on Sunday said that another storm, Tropical Storm Nongfah, was moving into Thailand as a strong low-pressure system.

Combined with an intensifying southwest monsoon, the weather system is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall across 43 provinces over the next days.

Authorities warned residents to constantly monitor weather updates.
