Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired on Wednesday the fourth edition of the roundtable on the green hydrogen industry in Egypt, in the new city of El Alamein.
During his speech, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker outlined Egypt's capabilities of renewable energies.
Shaker said that "from a theoretical point of view, there are potentials to produce electricity from wind energy in Egypt with a capacity of 350 gigawatts, and in the field of solar energy we have potentials to produce 650 gigawatts."
Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla also clarified that the establishment of green hydrogen facilities in Egypt goes beyond local uses to serve export purposes locally and globally.
During the roundtable activities, green hydrogen developers addressed a number of important issues, including facilities and incentives provided for green hydrogen projects, and presented a number of proposals that would enhance the components of this important industry in the Egyptian market during the next stage.
