STORYLINE:

The Chinese government has awarded 46 Tanzanian students scholarships for 2023/2024 in various Chinese higher learning institutions and 114 students have won the degree program scholarship of the Ministry of Commerce.

Chen Mingjian, the Chinese ambassador to Tanzania, said the Chinese government will, as always, help Tanzania improve capacity building in the field of education.

"Studying in China is not only beneficial for your own long-term personal development, but also will make a big contribution to the future friendship and cooperation between our two countries.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Chinese government will as always help Tanzania improve capacity building in the field of education to help Tanzania develop human capital and train talents urgently needed for national construction."

Amani Mwamlima, one of the beneficiaries of the scholarships, said his studies in China will help him take part in efforts aimed at developing his country.

Mwamlima, 32, who will pursue a Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, urged his fellow students to study hard while in China because the country boasts high-quality education.

"Studying in China is a great deal to me. I believe also to other students here who are going to study in China. What are we going to get when we go to study in China?
We are going to get the best quality of education in China and we are going to have cultural exchange. Also we are going to have access in manufacturing industries, services, also in agriculture, and tourism."
