A large fire engulfed a three-storey building this morning in Manila, the Philippines.

The blaze broke out on the third floor of the residential and commercial building in Quiapo City, and spread to the fourth floor of a neighbouring building at around 6 am on September 6.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said a level 2 fire alarm was raised, with six firetrucks dispatched to the scene. Personnel from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office were also on standby to provide medical care.

The fire was extinguished at around 8 am with no injuries or casualties reported. The BFP said 30 families were affected by the blaze.

Authorities are now investigating the exact cause of the fire.
