This the bizarre moment a loose wheel careening down a busy road baffled shocked motorists.

The item appeared to have come loose from a lorry before rolling down a dual carriageway in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday September 10.

Footage shows how it crashed into a parked car before coming to a stop. Nobody was injured but the driver of the vehicle it came loose from was never found.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, along with an under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
