A self-proclaimed mad scientist from Australia has come up with a clever and surprisingly healthy way for his kids play with slot cars.

The footage, filmed near Sydney on December 20, shows Jacob Strickling hooking up broken children's cars to the wires and motors and then watching as his kids turn the tyres to power the slot cars.

Jacob is a High School science teacher and also has a popular YouTube Channel called Make Science Fun. He is always coming up with crazy contraptions to entertain, excite and educate his children and students.

Here's a new way to play slot cars! It's not only fun, but will give you a good work out as well. You can even play them in a power outage.

When the kids turn the wheels of the ride-on cars, the electric motors actually behave like electrical generators which produce the power for the slot cars.
The faster you turn the wheels of the cars, the faster your slot car goes!
