Hay bale boarding! Thai farmer rides pile of rice stalks dragged behind tractor
A Thai farmer showed his playful side when he rode a big pile of hay being dragged behind a tractor during harvest on 30 August.
Footage shows the local lying on his stomach on the heap of cut rice stalks piled on to some kind of container attached to a tractor by rope, in Chachoengsao province.
The DIY extreme sportsman, who was inspired by the water sport wakeboarding, even extended his arm forward as he 'flew' through the field like Marvel hero Superman.
Rice is a staple food in Thailand and it is also an important export crop.
The country is the world's second-largest rice exporter after India, with an estimated 26.7 million metric tonnes produced in 2022.
