A Chinese homeowner was frustrated after his yard was invaded by wild elephants for the second time this year and they again destroyed his gate in an apparent search for food.

CCTV footage shows a jumbo forcing its way through the metal gate in Xishuangbanna, in southwestern China's Yunnan Province, on September 28.

Moments later, another elephant follows along and sneaks into the yard through the wedged-in opening.

It then joins the other tusker, and both begin rummaging through the area, seemingly trying to find anything edible among the numerous appliances left in the outdoor kitchen.

But they apparently could not find anything to snack on as minutes later they are seen giving up on their quest and leaving the property the way they came in.

Another piece of footage shows the messy aftermath of the elephants' visit, with spilled cooking oil and scattered spices left lying around the area.

It also shows a completely destroyed rice cooker and a busted fence, but thankfully no other significant damages.

The homeowner said: 'This is the second time this has happened.'

One elephant had previously broken into his home back in June and went on a rampage after the resident's yapping dogs sent it into a fury.

Video footage of the wild tusker's tantrum shows it walking peacefully by the huge gates, but turns and smashes through the gate with its head as two dogs bark furiously from the safety of the garden.

The dogs - now not so bold - flee to the house as the trunk-waving elephant trots after them before the footage cuts out.

Local media reported that the elephant eventually left quietly after feeding on the garden's lush shrubs and flowers.
