Russia claims its Su-25 attack aircraft hit Ukrainian positions and armoured vehicles in Donetsk
Russia has claimed that its Su-25 attack aircraft have hit Ukrainian military positions and armored vehicles in Donetsk, as these images purport to show.
The footage begins by showing a Russian aircraft being loaded with ordnance before it can be seen taking to the skies. It can then be seen opening fire on unseen targets before taking a base of action while flying low over countryside.
The footage then shows it flying even lower before repeatedly opening fire. The aircraft can then apparently be seen landing back at base as the footage ends.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Wednesday, October 11, along with a statement claiming: 'Su-25 attack aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces strike the enemy in the area of the special military operation.
'Attack aircraft crews carried out missile air strikes on military targets and equipment of Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Donetsk direction.
'Missile launches were carried out in pairs from low altitudes. After using aviation weapons, the crews performed a manoeuvre, releasing heat traps, and returned to the departure airfield.
'As a result of combat use, camouflaged fortified field positions and armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed. After the combat missions, engineering and technical specialists completed tasks to maintain aircraft and prepare aircraft for a second combat mission.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
