Footage of a bridge in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire that collapsed as the area was hit by severe flooding.

The bridge over the River Wharfe reportedly collapsed on Tuesday night, with the footage captured on Wednesday.

Footage shown here the aftermath of the recent floods in North Yorkshire causing Tadcaster bridge to collapse thereby dividing the town in two. The bridge collapsed on the evening of Tuesday 29th December 2015 around 5pm. The emergency services and Armed forces were drafted in to help evacuate homes and businesses close by amid fears of a gas main that runs through the bridge could explode. The bridge dates back to around 1700 and connects both sides of the town. This is another blow to the town after been hit by floods in recent days causing disruption and damage to properties.
