Out-of-control car takes out row of motorcyles like dominoes
This is the shocking moment an out-of-control car mowed down a row of motorcyles like dominoes in Thailand.
The white Toyota Fortuner was turning a curve, but lost control and crashed into the two-wheelers parked in front of a noodle shop in Chonburi, Thailand, on November 17.
CCTV footage shows the SUV slamming into the motorcycles and nearly running over several customers, who were unable to react in time.
One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Chonburi Hospital.
Speaking to local media, the noodle shop owner said that her customers were waiting for their takeaway orders when the SUV swerved around the corner and crashed into them.
Authorities said seven motorcycles were damaged. The unnamed driver has reportedly agreed to compensate the victims for damages.
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
