A forgetful husband drove away with the family car - leaving behind his wife and baby as they prepared to enter.

Street surveillance cameras captured the baffling fail in front of their home in the town of Handan, in Hebei Province, China, on the afternoon of December 10.

In the video, the man, is seen entering a black Volkswagen sedan parked by the roadside. His young wife came following after him, holding their small baby in her arms and trying to shield it from the snow.

She attempted to open the left back door, but quickly gave up and closed it after apparently deeming it unsafe to board with other vehicles passing behind her in the street.

Then, as she walked around the car to the other back door, her husband started the car and drove off, seemingly thinking she and the baby managed to get in.

Incredibly, rather than becoming mad or confused, she pulled out her mobile phone to calmly inform her husband that he had left them outside.

The woman later defended her husband, saying: 'My family, first of all, thank everyone for their love and support.

'The above thing is actually very common, but I recorded it because my home was under surveillance.

'I thought it was funny at first, but I didn't expect that it became popular and caused everyone's heated discussion, occupying public traffic and resources.

'The next step was that I took out my phone and called my husband. It rang for a long time before answering. He felt that I was sitting behind him.

'When he looked back, he was quite panicked and came back in two or three minutes. After he came back, we rolled down the windows and laughed.

'He is what everyone calls a proper man. My husband is usually very responsible for the family.

'He loves me as shown in the video and is caring and considerate. It can be said that he can do everything except give birth to babies.'
