A husband accidentally left his wife and child behind in the cold, rainy weather, thinking they were already inside the car.

The couple stepped outside their home with their baby on a 3 degrees Celsius day to enter the black sedan parked by the roadside in Hebei, China.

CCTV footage shows the man boarding the vehicle to start the engine while his wife, carrying their toddler, opened the passenger door and briefly stood still before closing it.

She then walked around the back of the car to reach the other side, but just as she was about to open the door, her husband suddenly drove off, unaware that his family had not yet entered the vehicle.

The woman can be seen visibly confused, watching as the car drives away.
