Three sheep stranded 2,289 metres above sea level in the Linge bivouac area of Ponte di Legno, Italy, were rescued by firefighters.

In a daring rescue mission on Monday, December 18, 2023, the Fire Brigade, responding to a request from Forestry personnel of the Carabinieri, successfully recovered three stranded sheep at an altitude of 2,289 meters above sea level in the Linge bivouac area of Ponte di Legno (BS).

The operation carried out in collaboration with the Carabinieri, involved the Drago VF150 helicopter crew from the Varese flight department and the Speleo team from the Brescia Command. The high-altitude rescue demonstrated the coordinated efforts of various teams, ensuring the safe recovery of the animals stranded in challenging terrain.
