A homeowner in Portsmouth, UK, made a heartwarming discovery as they found out who had been leaving packages of food outside their door.

Captured on a Ring doorbell camera, the footage shows an elderly woman leaving bags full of food outside several flats.

The filmer then revealed the woman was their neighbour and she had been doing this every few weeks for 12 years.

They told Newsflare: "For the 12 years we have lived here every few weeks or so myself and all the other neighbours receive food packages filled with chocolate, sweets, tins, fruit you name it it’s been in there.

"But we didn’t have a clue who it was until we got an amazing ring doorbell and we captured this heartwarming footage.

"She’s a kind soul and we thank her dearly."
