Chinese business owner pioneers milling revolution with electric scooter-powered operations
A business owner pioneered the milling revolution with electric scooter-powered operations in northwestern China.
The video was filmed in Wuzhong City in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on January 10.
A traditional flour mill has garnered attention by using an electric scooter to grind flour.
Mr. Liu, the owner of the mill, reminisces about his childhood when he enjoyed flour milled by stone mills, claiming it to be tastier than the modern machine-ground alternatives. He emphasises the benefits of stone grinding, citing its ability to incorporate a variety of grains for a healthier and greener end product.
Traditionally, animals like donkeys or cows were employed to turn the stone mills. However, with the challenges of feeding and maintaining these animals, Liu turned to a novel solution — using electric scooter to power the mill.
The scooter, serving as a replacement for traditional animal labor, can work for 5 hours on a single charge, grinding 40 kilograms of flour in just one hour.
Mr. Liu markets the freshly ground flour on online shopping platforms, and it has gained popularity among consumers who appreciate the traditional and eco-friendly approach to milling.
