"I believe that it's a very exciting future for both countries and future cooperation between Nauru and China. The people of Nauru as well as the government of Nauru, I think, is very, very excited to look at this new partnership moving forward for a very prosperous future and sharing mutual initiatives for both countries moving forward. 

I think that looking at cooperation generally between countries, there is a way that both countries can benefit from it. I think ongoing initiatives where there is an opportunity to exchange expertise as well as resources and development from both sides are of mutual benefit for the partnership of both countries as well as the Pacific.

I think at this stage, the ongoing discussion between China and Nauru will go, and the ways and means of economic cooperation will develop as a result of these discussions, so it's very exciting to look forward to.

In the year ahead, we're into the future and we look forward to a very exciting partnership between Nauru and China."
