The political and business communities in Western Australia have noted that the state has benefited from the economic and trade relationship with China.

"The economic and trade relationship has underpinned the prosperity of both Western Australia and China for many years. 163 billion (Australian) dollars of goods were exported from Western Australia to China in 2023 alone, representing over 50 percent of all Australia's exports to China. So we believe that we've got a very close relationship with China, understanding that mutual prosperity is based upon this great trade and economic relationship. Through that great partnership that we have with China, we've been able to significantly boost Western Australia's economy."

"Port Hedland wouldn't exist in the way it exists today if it weren't for China. Port Hedland and China are deeply linked. And that is because Port Headland is so closely linked to the phenomenal and amazing growth of China in the last 20 years."

"According to the analysis of our report, every household in Western Australia has benefited from the economic and trade exchanges between Western Australia and China. First, employment. Our report shows that in 2023, there were about 220,000 jobs in Western Australia, which can be directly linked to the economic and trade exchanges between Western Australia and China. Second, disposable income. The annual disposable income for each household in Western Australia has increased by about 8,700 Australian dollars, the highest in Australia."
