STORYLINE:
STANDUP 1 (English): LIU YUTIAN, Xinhua correspondent
"Sunshine, a renewable energy source, is considered an inexhaustible natural resource.
Here, amidst the backdrop of gleaming solar panels, we're at the forefront of this energy revolution."
Today, we've come to Yingli Solar, based in China's Hebei, about 150 kilometers south of Beijing.
STANDUP 2 (English): LIU YUTIAN, Xinhua correspondent
"Here, right beside the bustling intelligent production line, these PV (photovoltaic) modules are the final stage of solar cells. Once deployed, they would capture the sun's energy and transform it into electricity without leaving any pollution."
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): YU BO, Vice President of Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"The PV industry has many advantages, such as being environmentally friendly, and not limited by geography.
The rapid pace of technological innovation in the PV industry has led to its transformation from a supporting role to a leading role in the energy sector. This has played an active role in driving the overall energy transformation.
Yingli entered the PV industry in 1998. Since 2009, Yingli has achieved a leading position in the N-Type solar cell technology. The N-Type cells are 1.5% more efficient than P-Type cells, contributing positively to cost reduction of photovoltaic power generation."
In 2003, the company initiated its first export of photovoltaic products to the international market.
Since then, Yingli products have been introduced to over 150 countries.
The Ibri II Solar Power Project in Oman, Yingli's largest project in the Middle East, boasts an annual electricity output of 600,000 MWh, meeting yearly electricity needs of 50,000 households.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): GENG HAO, General Manager, International Sales Department, Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"The overall installed capacity of our project in Oman is 575 megawatts. Construction of the project began in 2018, with Yingli participating in the design of the project, as well as the optimization of the entire system."
SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): GENG HAO, General Manager, International Sales Department, Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"We also supplied 1 MW of solar modules for Pakistan's parliament building, which has been well received by the Pakistani government."
SOUNDBITE 4 (Chinese): GENG HAO, General Manager, International Sales Department, Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"Currently, hundreds of millions of people in Africa still lack access to electricity. For them, photovoltaic power could be one of the best solutions. With PV technology, people can now save on their monthly electricity bills and even earn some income (by selling it to the grid)."
In the global market, the company is partnering with local communities and providing job opportunities.
SOUNDBITE 5 (Chinese): GENG HAO, General Manager, International Sales Department, Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"Yingli has employed nearly 100 staff members overseas. As our business grows in the global market, we are eager to work with local partners to achieve a localized supply of products.
Every year, Yingli organizes training courses for partner countries of the Belt and Road Initiative. We are also very open and willing to share with them our experience in PV manufacturing and market insights accumulated over the years."
STANDUP 3 (English): LIU YUTIAN, Xinhua correspondent
"China is committed to a 'dual carbon' goal to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
China is also helping developing countries by sharing its expertise, technology, and resources to help them reduce emissions.
Yingli's endeavors are also part of these efforts."
SOUNDBITE 6 (Chinese): YU BO, Vice President of Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd.
"China's commitment to the 'dual-carbon' goal is a necessary path for the realization of Chinese modernization, which sets an example and provides a reference for other countries. It's also a positive contribution to the global energy transition and to the fight against climate change.
The advancement of China's PV technologies will prompt us to conduct broader exchanges and cooperation with the international market and boost the development of PV industries overseas."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Baoding, China.
