STORYLINE:

In northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, this integrated photovoltaic (PV) base with an installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts has been running since last June.

With over 3.7 million solar panels, it's projected to generate 3.7 billion kWh of green electricity yearly for Zhejiang Province in east China.

While embracing sustainability, the base is also going smart.

STANDUP (English): EL BATOUL NEJJAOUI, Moroccan expat
"Now, I'm at this huge solar panels field. Maybe you are so curious how they can clean all these solar panels. Maybe something impossible. No, I can tell you, maybe it seems impossible, but China has a higher technology to do this. A self-control cleaning robot can clean 1,600 solar panels per day. It's something wonderful, right?"

SOUNDBITE (Chinese): ZHANG LEI, Vice director of the PV base
"As a national demonstration of smart photovoltaic technology, the PV base utilizes innovative tools like big data, cloud computing, and 5G+ to implement intelligent drone inspections and automatic cleaning."

As China's first demonstration zone for new-energy comprehensive construction, Ningxia is a major green power supplier with abundant green energy resources.
