On February 19th, in the Jiuziyan Scenic Area of Chizhou, Anhui Province, a troop of monkeys raided a temple, pilfering offerings before departing with a small dog in tow.

According to officials from the Qingyang County Forestry Bureau, the monkeys were likely attracted to the temple by tourists and wouldn't have descended from the mountains otherwise. As long as visitors refrain from feeding them, there shouldn't be any issues. Monkeys typically lurk at the border between the scenic area and the mountains, observing whether tourists offer food. If food is offered, the monkeys approach; if not, they remain in place.
