Massive mudslide closes California road indefinitely
Residents and commuters in Malibu are facing challenges as Malibu Canyon Road remains closed due to a large mudslide.
California Highway Patrol - West Valley has confirmed that the road will be closed overnight between Piuma Road and PCH as authorities conduct a geology assessment on February 22.
Despite efforts to clear most of the debris from the rockslide, the closure is expected to remain in place for the rest of the day. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area and seek alternate routes.
Videos shared by California Highway Patrol - West Valley show the extent of the mudslide, which has caused significant disruption to traffic in the area. The situation is being closely monitored by authorities as they work to ensure the safety of residents and commuters.
