STORYLINE:

Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said that there was virtual unanimity in support of the two-state solution as the only way out of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Vieira made the remarks at the press conference after the two-day G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting concluded on Thursday in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian top diplomat also said many countries expressed concern about the conflict, highlighting the risk of spreading to neighboring countries.

Viera added that the event has two very productive work sessions with the first session themed "current geopolitical tensions" and the second session themed "the reform of global governance."

When it comes to the reform of global governance, the delegates agreed on the fact that the main multilateral institutions, such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, need reform to adapt to the challenges in today's world.

The two-day meeting was attended by 45 delegations, including member countries, guest countries, and international organizations. The Chinese delegation led by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu attended the event.

A second meeting of the G20 foreign ministers is slated for September in New York.
