STORYLINE:

The Journalists Syndicate in Egypt organized a conference in solidarity with Palestinian journalists, and against the ongoing Israeli aggression on Wednesday.

This came in conjunction with the celebrations of the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian Journalists.

The conference included live testimonies from the heart of Gaza by Palestinian journalists, including the Palestinian journalist Khawla Al-Khalidi, who spent more than 100 days under bombardment, and the Palestinian journalist Khaled Abu Sultan, one of the victims of the brutal Zionist aggression against those reporting the truth.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): KHAWLA AL-KHALIDI, Palestinian journalist
"What Gaza is living in only five minutes exceeds what has happened in World War I and World War II. We are losing thousands of children either by Israeli shelling, Israeli snipers, or by hunger. It never occurred to us that we could get into the fear that our families and children go to death through hunger, thirst, or for having no simple medical service."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): Palestinian journalist
"During the last aggression in Gaza, there was running electric power. There was water and food. We were working or were returning home. There was food, water, and communications. This war is totally different."

Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Cairo.
