In a remarkable act of valor this week, a sergeant from the LCSO (Lake County Sheriff's Office) intervened to rescue a snake that had become entangled in a "15-20 foot python" entwined in the engine compartment of a vehicle in Lehigh Acres.

Sergeant Van Pelt, an adept python controller, promptly and carefully removed the sizable serpent, avoiding any harm to the creature or himself, skillfully navigating the delicate task in the engine bay.

The snake was safely relocated and released, unharmed, into a nearby wooded area, marking a heartening resolution in a potentially hazardous automotive encounter.
