Huge truck overturned on I-80 in El Cerrito, CA, USA
This footage was filmed and produced 29 February 2024.
In a dramatic turn of events on the morning of February 29th, the California Highway Patrol Truckee Area shared a shocking video of an overturned truck after a traffic accident on I-80 eastbound, just east of the Donner Lake Interchange. The video showed the aftermath of the solo big rig traffic collision that had blocked all lanes of the highway, causing a major traffic jam.
Thankfully, the driver of the overturned truck was reported to have sustained only minor injuries in the accident. Despite the fortunate outcome for the driver, the incident resulted in a full closure of the eastbound lanes as authorities worked tirelessly to clear the wreckage and safely remove the truck from the road.
The California Highway Patrol Truckee Area issued a traffic alert urging drivers to avoid the area and warning of delays due to the ongoing road closure. As the hours passed, updates were provided on the progress of clearing the scene and reopening the roadway.
Finally, at 11:45 am, an update was shared that the solo big rig traffic collision had been successfully cleared and the eastbound lanes of I-80 at the Donner Lake Interchange were reopened to traffic. The efficient work of the authorities involved in the operation allowed for the restoration of normal traffic flow and the resolution of the incident.
