This is the dramatic moment a pickup truck overturned after one of its wheels blew out - leaving a trail of sparks along a highway in Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows the vehicle spinning out of control when the rubber tire exploded and sent sparks flying across the road in Kamphaeng Phet province on November 20.

The truck spilled its cargo of coconuts as it spun uncontrollably before flipping over on the tarmac.

It was believed to have been overloaded while travelling at a speed of 80 kilometres per hour.

Local media reported that the driver managed to escape with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Driver Noom, who captured the extreme crash, said: 'I was driving behind and did not expect to see that happen. It was scary. I had to slam my brakes quickly.

'The driver was not hurt but he was worried about losing all of the coconuts. They spilled on the road but people helped to collect them for him.'
