The increase of dengue cases in Peru and consequently the deaths due to the disease -which total 32 until this week- finally motivated the Ministry of Health to take the decision to declare a sanitary emergency in some regions of Peru.
Precisely, after the Council of Ministers, the Government of Dina Boluarte decided to declare an emergency in the 20 regions affected by this disease, which has so far reported more than 17 thousand confirmed cases.
The head of the sector, Cesar Vasquez, indicated that 20 of Peru's 24 regions will be included in a health emergency declaration that was finalized at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and that today, at a press conference, was confirmed.
"We are working so that in the next hours or days a supreme decree will be issued declaring an emergency in most of the regions of the country due to the imminent risk of this epidemic 20 regions would be considered in sanitary emergency", said the head of the Ministry of Health, Cesar Vasquez, in a conversation with RPP, today in the morning hours.
