Neighbours gathered around small campfire jump from seats when it suddenly explodes
The astonishing video captured a group of people becoming terrified when a small campfire they had set on a concrete ground unexpectedly exploded.
Surveillance camera footage shot in the city of Shangqiu, in Henan, China, showed the group of 10 neighbours huddled near the flames at around 7:24 pm on February 25.
But just moments later the calm scene turned into chaos, after the fire suddenly burst into three-metre-high (9.8 feet) flames, prompting them to jump from their seats.
Chinese media reported that the explosion was likely caused by the concrete floor due to the trapped moisture within the concrete turning into steam.
One of the individuals later told Chinese media: 'Never start a fire or roast food on a concrete floor.'
