Vehicle rampages through campus, injuring students in eastern China
A vehicle ploughed into pedestrians on a campus, injuring 10 students in eastern China.
The aftermath video was filmed in Taizhou City in Zhejiang Province on March 19.
Witnesses reveals that nearly 10 students sustained varying degrees of injuries. The driver responsible has since been apprehended by authorities, while the injured students have been swiftly transported to hospitals for treatment.
Taizhou Municipal Public Security Bureau is currently investigating the matter.
In the afternoon of March 19, a student with insider knowledge disclosed that the incident occurred near the teaching building during the lunch hour. He narrowly avoided being hit as the vehicle sped past him upon his arrival at the dormitory.
Another student recounted walking along the road when the vehicle passed by, striking numerous classmates before finally coming to a halt at a considerable distance.
The driver was identified as a male individual. Yet another student mentioned witnessing the aftermath on her way to the cafeteria after class, with numerous individuals lying on the ground. Prompt medical assistance arrived at the scene to aid the injured.
A spokesperson from Zhejiang Taizhou Vocational and Technical College explained that the vehicle involved was not registered within the school's system and had entered the campus through unauthorised means before causing the accident.
The institution is currently managing the situation internally.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
