A bus collided with multiple students outside the gate of a high school, injuring 12 in China,
The aftermath video was filmed in the city of Ziyang in Sichuan Province on December 13.
At least two students laid on the ground and one of them in apparent pain, amidst scattered electric scooters and bicycles.
According to a nearby shop owner, the accident occurred around 6:00pm during the peak hours when students were leaving school. Many parents were present to pick up their children.
The witness stated, "This area is in the old city, and the road is relatively narrow. The vehicle was traveling at a high speed. As soon as we saw it, we immediately rushed to help. The injured children have all been taken to the hospital, and the driver has been detained by the police." Other merchants mentioned that among the injured were parents of the students.
The 53-year-old driver Mr Jiang made an operational error, leading to a collision between the bus and pedestrians, as well as two-wheeled electric bikes on Haihui Road in the Yuecheng Street of Anyue County.
The accident resulted in 12 people being injured, with all victims promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. One person sustained more severe injuries but is currently not in life-threatening condition.
Jiang has been taken into custody by the public security authorities. Preliminary investigations have ruled out suspicion of driving under the influence, and further inquiries are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
