STORYLINE:

As Israeli army forces announced the end of military operations in Hamad Town in the southern Gazan Strip's Khan Younis City, dozens of Gazans returned with a faint hope of ending their displaced life but failed.

"I come back to see if I could live here again, and I found my apartment flattened on the ground. My seven children and I currently live and sleep on the street. It is difficult to live in Gaza because of the constant instability."

"Most of the buildings in Hamad were destroyed. My brother died in the first days of the war, and my second brother is missing, perhaps under the rubble. Almost 70 percent of the buildings were completely destroyed, and the others were severely damaged."

"This destroyed place was once a park, not a missile launching site. These damaged buildings were home to about 22 or 24 families in each building. Were all those dead civilians terrorists launching rockets?"
