In yet another achievement, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) completed the successful landing of 'Pushpak', which is a Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) in southern India's Karnataka.

This happened at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) in Challakere near Chitradurga on March 22.

Visuals showed the RLV make a successful landing on a runaway. According to a report, 'Pushpak' has been dubbed as the 'desi space shuttle' and it was dropped from a Chinook helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) from an altitude of 4.5 kilometre. This was also the RLV's third landing mission with it previously achieving success last year and way back in 2016. This mission was a simulation of high-speed landing of a RLV which returned from space.

The mission turned out to be a success and ISRO chairman S Somnath also echoed the same sentiment and congratulated the team which made this a reality. "The mission was accomplished by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) along with the Liquid Propulsion System Centre (LPSC) and the ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU)," said a part of a statement from ISRO.
