In the early hours of March 31st, a resident of a high-rise apartment captured a harrowing moment on their home surveillance camera.

The footage shows a mother reacting swiftly to the sound of strong winds by closing and locking the sliding doors of her living room before retreating further into the house, leaving her daughter watching TV in the living room. Within seconds, a gust of wind violently shattered the windows, causing the sliding doors to topple over and hurtle towards the girl playing in the living room. Sensing the danger, the mother rushed back just in time to witness the scene unfold and swiftly grabbed her daughter, pulling her to safety inside the house.

Fortunately, the girl escaped unharmed as the sofa in the living room shielded her from the flying debris.

According to local authorities, Nanchang, Jiangxi province, experienced a sudden and intense bout of severe weather, including heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. The severe weather on the early morning of March 31st has resulted in four fatalities and over ten injuries across the city.
