Passengers shouted "get off" as a woman lying across seats caused flight delay in southern China.

Video filmed in Guilin City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on April 16, shows a woman lying across seats, sparking outrage among those aboard who collectively demanded her removal from the flight GT1013 at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport.

The woman was heard telling police officers, "I am seriously ill now. Whoever forces me off this plane today, I will hold them fully responsible, and I will go to their home." Despite police intervention, the woman remained defiant, questioning the aircraft's inability to accommodate her condition.

Ms. Gu, a passenger, revealed that the woman had a medical condition and claimed she had initially indicated she could sit up during takeoff and landing. However, upon boarding, she lay down and refused to comply with crew instructions to sit up, let alone disembark.

According to Gu, authorities were called, but the woman remained on board, resulting in a delay of over two hours before the flight could finally depart around 7:00 p.m., instead of the scheduled 4:30 p.m. departure time. The airline has since issued an apology to affected passengers.

In response, a spokesperson for Guilin Airlines attributed the delay to a passenger's inability to sit properly, deeming it unsuitable for takeoff. The airport authorities are yet to receive further instructions regarding the incident.

乘客顾女士（化姓）介绍，视频中躺在座椅上的女子身患疾病，登机时她说起飞和降落能坐起来，但她应该是买了两个座位，上飞机后就躺下了。乘务员告诉她躺着很危险，不符合乘坐飞机的条件，但让她坐起来她不坐，让她下飞机她也不下。
顾女士还表示，后来报警处理，警察来了那名女子最终也没有下飞机，在延误了两个多小时后，飞机才正常起飞。本来是下午4点半起飞的飞机，他们等到晚上近7点钟才起飞，延误了两个多小时。17日上午，她刚刚收到了航空公司给她打的道歉电话。
对此，桂林航空一名工作人员回应，航班延误的原因是机上一名乘客无法正常坐在座椅上，这不符合起飞条件。延误了2小时25分钟，机场方面也暂未收到后续的处理方案。
