SOUNDBITE (French): YANNICK LINTZ, President, Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts
"We have a rich Chinese collection, and of the 60,000 or so works in the museum as a whole, 20,000 are Chinese objects.
So for us, what's important is that visitors coming to the Guimet Museum understand what Chinese art was like during its major periods.
And I say to myself, as a museum of civilizations, our museum has a duty to show that history, the real history, is the 'Silk Road,' in other words, a history of exchanges between East and West.
I think that historically, and in the future too, the museum is what I often call the gateway to China for Europeans.
It's a place for dialogue."
