Automatic braking saves elderly pedestrian from collision
On May 5th, a dramatic incident unfolded in Nanjing, southern China, as a driver entered a tunnel, experiencing a sudden change in lighting conditions, causing temporary blindness. Emerging from the momentary darkness, the driver spotted an elderly person directly ahead. Just as a collision seemed imminent, the vehicle's automatic braking system kicked in, averting tragedy. According to the driver involved, the encounter resulted in only minor contact between the vehicle and the elderly individual, with no serious injuries reported.
