A cargo ship carrying prefabricated components for 125 panel-built houses departed for Sri Lanka from north China's Tianjin port on Thursday.
This move comes after the signing of cooperation documents between the China International Development Cooperation Agency and relevant departments of Sri Lanka on March 26 this year.
The materials will be used for emergency humanitarian assistance, aiding economic recovery and improvement in standards of living in Sri Lanka.
Two more batches of aid will be shipped from Tianjin port soon.
