Storyline:
Medical professionals of the 14th Chinese peacekeeping team with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) offered free checks to villagers in Wau in northwestern South Sudan.

The medical contingent consists of 18 peacekeepers specializing in dermatology, stomatology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics. They carried with them 40 kinds of medical supplies, including medicines, consumables, and equipment, to provide basic medical services for local villagers, with the company of officials from the United Nations and local government departments, as well as the escort of a Bangladeshi infantry battalion.

These medical professionals conducted medical checks for about 300 residents and provided them with about 20 kinds of medicines. They also interacted with villagers, sharing health knowledge and preventive measures on common illnesses, seasonal epidemics, and infectious diseases.

Residents in South Sudan have long faced difficulties in accessing healthcare due to the conflicts that have displaced many and limited resources in the area.
