China unveils cutting-edge robotic dogs for military reconnaissance and combat
China has unveiled robotic dogs designed for military reconnaissance and combat, showcased for the first time during the joint Sino-Cambodian 'Golden Dragon-2024' military exercise.
In the recently released footage, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) presented two advanced robot dogs.
One robot dog specializes in reconnaissance, capable of detecting problems and gathering intelligence, while the other is equipped with an automatic rifle, able to rapidly advance, target, and shoot.
Chinese media highlighted that this technology places China ahead of other nations, including the U.S., in developing robotic fighting machines.
The exercise video demonstrates the versatility of these robotic dogs, from collecting military intelligence to sending high-definition images and thermal data to command posts in real-time.
Their AI design allows them to autonomously navigate obstacles and choose optimal paths for reconnaissance, ensuring efficient mission completion.
The armed robotic dog can conduct street fighting and ambushes from concealed locations, reducing risks to human soldiers.
Although the U.S. pioneered robot dog development, they eventually discontinued the project, leaving China to advance in this field.
