The rider was seen manoeuvring his vehicle through chest-level muddy floodwaters in Wujiang, Shaoguan City, Guangdong, China, on April 20.
Footage shows the man forcing his way through the murky waters to reach his destination, with his electric vehicle miraculously still functioning.
The China Meteorological Administration issued a yellow alert for severe convective weather and an orange alert for heavy rain.
According to the Guangdong Hydrological Bureau, 32 hydrological stations in the province exceeded the warning water level due to the heavy rainfall.
This led the bureau to declare a red alert for flood warnings.
