STORYLINE:

On Thursday evening, the National Olympic Committee of Cote d'Ivoire held a mobilization ceremony for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire.

SOUNDBITE 1 (French): CHEICK SALLAH JUNIOR CISSE, Ivorian taekwondo athlete in Men's +80 kg
"The goal for all athletes is the gold medal. But you know, there is no exact science in sport. What is certain is that we will give the best of ourselves and God will do the rest. The secret to my success in 2023 is due to hard work. There are also all these Ivorians who pray for me and who also want the flag of Cote d'Ivoire to go very far. So I would like to thank them all. This is the result of our hard work and perseverance. I and other young people will persevere and shine on behalf of Cote d'Ivoire in different sports."

SOUNDBITE 2 (French): ZOULEIHA ABZETTA DABONNE, Ivorian female judoka in the Women's -57kg
"The objective is to aim for the podium regardless of the color of the medal. We know that it is a competition that will be very intense because it is all the best who end up in this competition. We will give our best and bring home at least one medal."

SOUNDBITE 3 (French): ADJE SILAS METCH, Minister of Sports and Living Environment
"Let's cheer for the Ivorian athletes who will compete in the Olympic Games Paris 2024! Congratulations to them for successfully qualifying for the Olympics in their respective fields."

The ceremony aims to cheer on the dozen Olympic athletes who are about to compete for the country.
