Under the aegis of Agriculture Department , State Level Mango Festival, 2024 was organized on 22-23 June at Gyan Bhawan, Patna,Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated the Mango Festival in the presence of Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey. In this festival, an exhibition of hybrid varieties of mango including Agat, Medieval and Pichat was organized.

Mango is cultivated in 1.63 lakh hectares in the state and 15.76 lakh tonnes is produced.

Shilpi (Assistant director Agriculture department ,Bihar) said Mango and its processed products were displayed by mango growers and entrepreneurs from different districts of the state in the exhibition. In the exhibition, 4578 varieties of mango like Agat varieties, Intermediate varieties, Pichhat varieties, Hybrid varieties, Colored varieties, Biju mango etc. have been displayed. In this, 1357 exhibits of Agat varieties like Jardalu, Mithua, Gulab Khas, Surkh Verma, Sundar Prasad, Jarda, Bombay, Rani Pasand, Gopal Bhog etc. have been displayed.
In the Mango Mahotsav, to enable school and college children to get acquainted with the different varieties of mango produced in the state, Eat Mango, Mango Fancy Dress competition was organised. Along with this, a technical session was organized for better quality production of mango. In which scientists from agricultural universities of the state will give farmers knowledge about the technology for better production of mango and will tell them the solution to the problems of the farmers.
