Stunning candle art display was showcased at a Buddhist festival in northern India.
Niranjana Deepotsav was held at Maya Sarovar Park in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, where hundreds of candles were artistically arranged on the steps during the religious event on February 3.
Footage shows the lights beautifully illuminating the stairs.
In another clip, foreign artists, national performers, and schoolchildren presented a cultural dance on stage in front of several monastery monks and devotees.
More than 150 foreign artists from six different countries, including Bollywood playback singers, performed on stage during the three-day international religious festival.
The festival was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra and Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr Prem Kumar, who lit the ceremonial lamp.
Theravada and Mahayana monks initiated the festival and wished for its success.
Stalls were set up with information about various departmental initiatives, including the Gram Shree Fair, Panchayat Darshan, Mahila Mahotsav, food stalls, exhibitions on government projects, a Buddha-themed film festival, and an art festival.
Buddhism is a spiritual and philosophical tradition that originated in ancient India around 2,500 years ago. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama, who is commonly known as the Buddha, meaning 'the awakened one.'
