A motorcycle rider crashed into a wall when the brakes failed as he drove into the basement.

Although it was not designed for vehicles, the man, believed it would be fine to store the bike down there while it was raining outside as the corridor was wide enough and it had a central ramp for wheelchairs and prams.

But he had not realised that his brakes would suddenly fail, and he ended up being caught on CCTV as he smashed into the wall, sending the front forks forward and toppling the bike on its side.

The surveillance video was captured at the property in Hangzhou, which is the capital and most populous city of Zhejiang province in eastern China, on June 16.

According to local media, the man was unhurt although he faced a hefty repair bill to fix the bike.
