This is the dramatic moment a pharmacist saved a child choking in the shop by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre.

Kratib Napakkamon was manning the store when a frantic mum barged in claiming her one-year-old son was suffering a seizure and fever in Satun province, Thailand, on June 26.

Footage shows Kratib doing the first-aid manoeuvre to dislodge a grape stuck in the baby's airway.

After several minutes, the baby began to blink and start crying, indicating that the obstruction had been cleared.

An ambulance later arrived to take the child to the local hospital, where he is now in a safe condition.

Kratib said: 'The mum was panicking and saying her baby was suffering seizures because of a fever. We called an ambulance, but I noticed that the baby's temperature was normal while wiping it down.

'The symptoms the mum said were different from what I observed, so I asked her if she fed her child prior to the incident. She told me she fed the baby small grapes, which are a choking hazard in children that age.

'I've responded to many different emergencies in my 12 years of operating the pharmacy, but this one was the most intense.'
