USA: North Hollywood Major Intersection Shut Down Due to Hazmat Oil Spill
Los Angeles, United States - July 04, 2024
Location: 4701 N Lankershim Boulevard.
Firefighters (including HazMat Specialists) were on scene of an oil spill (approximately 500 gallons) attempting to redirect and limit the flow to prevent environmental contamination (storm drains). No additional oil spilling is anticipated. No reported injuries.
Lankershim Boulevard and Riverside Drive have been closed due to a significant amount of oil on the roadway. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Department of Transportation (DOT) are managing traffic control in the area.
The oil has flowed approximately one mile from its source.
