Chimp returns dropped phone to tourist using lowered basket
This is the incredible moment a chimp gives a zoo visitor back a phone that was dropped inside the chimpanzee park.
Footage of the incident was filmed at a zoo in Rongcheng City in Shandong Province, China, on Saturday, July 13.
A tourist accidentally dropped his cell phone into the primate enclosure and it landed near a chimp named Dongdong.
Dongdong noticed the phone and approached it. Without hesitation, he picked it up and carried it to a nearby basket, used for retrieving dropped items.
He placed the phone in the basket and observed as people began pulling the basket upwards. He then held the basket steady, ensuring it reached the top without any issues.
Once the basket reached the people above, Dongdong returned to his usual activities.
The incident highlighted Dongdong's helpful and cooperative behaviour, impressing the onlookers and ensuring the tourist's phone was safely returned.
